For the bacon aficionados: a fun and informative session learning techniques and approaches to traditional dry cured bacon making.
During this workshop we'll cover everything you need to know to make your own great bacon, bursting with flavour. You will learn it all: from the best pork to use and the correct butchery techniques, right through to the curing, drying and, of course, the eating.
You will also get to compare how our bacon differs from the supermarket offering, in both taste, texture and appearance. Something which you can then replicate with the slab of bacon you cure at home.
Throughout the session there'll be ample tea or coffee and lashings of bacon sandwiches to keep the wolf from the door.
You'll walk away with all the skills needed to make your own bacon at home, a good chunk of bacon that you'll have cured on the day, and a full belly.
Sessions take place at ourStreatham smokerystarting at 10.30am and 2pm and last approximately 2.5 - 3 hours.
